Hey, life is tiring, make yourself a cup of tea, and let me give you some moments of calm. And news.
I’m really trying hard here while my neighbours are drilling. Maybe the drill will come through my walls? I’ll let you know. Now it’s back to hammering? Well.
My news this month is a banger too, and the jokes are not getting any better.
Writing
Let’s jump right into it because there is something exciting I can finally drop!!
Prometheus
My short story, 207 years, is going to be published in Snakeskin Press’ first-ever anthology: Prometheus. This brand new anthology will be released on October 31st, 2026, including 15 other amazing authors and their respective stories.
Being a part of this is a huge honour for me. The other authors are amazing, and the founders of Snakeskin (Jess and Jake) are such lovely people.
This project takes away my pressure of having to finish Project Winter in 2026. Instead, you will be getting a short story set in the same universe, while I will get the time to regroup and finish the novel in the best way possible.
Project Winter
Editing has come to a stop since I’m concentrating on the short story and on prepping for art markets (more on that in a moment). Last time I checked, I was somewhere in chapter four. I made peace with the fact that I will not be a two-books-a-year kind of author.
Oh, btw, we are back to drilling. But you know what I will continuously drill into your mind?
Carved by Water
As authors with new projects, we tend to forget what we already created (or at least my brain works like that). Not because it was bad, but because shiny and new is always so… well, shiny and new. Carved by Water is my debut fantasy novel about a crew of misfits casually causing revolution while travelling the world in a submarine. On itch.io it is only $2.
Art
Art markets are a major source of income for me, but also SO MUCH FUN. I still can't get over the fact that people buy my art at markets. Like what? You spend your hard-earned money on me? Are you guys sure?
My next art market is the Aplerbecker Kunstmarkt in Dortmund on Mai 3rd.
Bookmarks, Stickers and Postcards
The 2025 drop is going to be huge. Most of my audience on this newsletter and on IG are not from Germany, but for those who are: All the products are exclusive to markets first (so don’t miss the chance to snag yourself stickers or bookmarks), while originals are only sold at markets.
Over the summer I will slowly stock up my Etsy shop so everyone can get a chance to browse through my stuff. If you don’t want to miss anything, you can follow my art account.
Etsy
I’m not very happy with Etsy to be completely honest with you. The fees are straight-up rude, and there is no PayPal option for my shop (and I get a lot of feedback that this is what keeps people from buying). So I’m currently browsing alternatives that aren’t Shopify, which is still too expensive for my size. So maybe Patreon or Co-fi? Let me know if you have experience or suggestions.
Reading
Poetry
Poetry is a volatile thing for me. I love it, but I often don’t make the effort to read it more since it takes time and brain cells. Sometimes a poem needs to be read multiple times; sometimes you have to think about it. That requires way more energy for me than reading fiction prose.
I discovered the Poetry Foundation, their daily poems and collections. My current favourite poet is Chen Chen, with his collection Your Emergency Contact Has Experienced an Emergency.
March Favourites
Like You’ve Nothing Left to Prove by E. L. Massey
Book one already was my favourite last month, and this is the perfect continuation of Eli's and Alex's stories. I love these two and their dynamic so much. If you crave 100% wholesome romance, including scheduled couple meetings, this is for you.
Katabasis by R. F. Kuang
You are seeing right: I’m back into fantasy. Katabasis was a banger. I ate it up with all the references the author left in there like glitter. This was not a happy book. It was messy, the characters were insufferable and real, and it encompassed everything academia is to this day.
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
You know those books that have very little plot, but you really don’t care as long as the author keeps describing the vibes? That’s what this is for me. It is almost 600 pages, and I was tempted to start over the moment I finished it to stay a little longer inside the story.
INDIE SPOTLIGHT
A F*ckery of Songs and Shadow by A. J. Braun (coming April 9th 2026)
My first ARC in a while was the perfect novella to get back into reviewing. I devoured this like butterballs, and it was so good to be back on an adventure with Benny and Rhema, this time including more of Rosanna.
We get a new bounty, K-pop demon hunters references and sapphics not talking about their feelings. So what would you want more? I really don’t know.
INDIE SHOUTOUT
Since Jake Vanguard’s Kickstarter of Troubled Bodies is going live today, I absolutely need to shout it out too. Troubled Bodies is a queer cannibalistic horror romance. So buckle up, check it out, I’m sure it is going to be nothing but great!

Watching
Terminal
This movie is over 20 years old, and I had never seen it. I was informed that I lived under a rock and watched it this month. I really enjoyed it. I was fun and light-hearted but also sad and heavy, and you know what? I love it when movies are all of those things at the same time. and light-hearted. I’m glad to add it to my DVD collection.
After some more banging and hammering we are back to drilling, but my apartment still stands intact. The cats are not amused and so am I.
That was it. That was March. Can you believe it? But apparently 2026 has no intention of slowing down.
I can’t wait to give you so many more details about Prometheus in the next one. For now I wish you the best possible start into April and a calm month.
